Vocational training to female members of Western Command – Eritrea Ministry Of Information

Barentu, 10 June 2024 – A four-month vocational training program was successfully completed by 58 female members of the Western Command. This initiative was a collaborative effort between the National Union of Eritrean Women and the Western Command of the Eritrean Defense Forces.

Hosted at the National Union of Eritrean Women’s training center in Barentu, the program covered key areas such as computer technology, secretarial science, and computer maintenance.

Ms. Tekea Tesfamicael, President of the National Union of Eritrean Women, highlighted the significant role of Eritrean women in national development and the protection of national sovereignty. She praised their historical contributions and called for ongoing support for programs that enhance women’s capacities.

Brig. Gen. Tsehaye Mokonnen, Chief of Staff of the Western Command, remarked on the significance of investing in women’s training, reflecting the high regard and confidence placed in them. He advocated for the continuation of such training initiatives.

The program concluded with the distribution of certificates of merit to the participants and accolades to the instructors, celebrating their dedication and achievement.
